Short description

After several years of development work it was possible to gather a community of direct sellers to run a farm shop. New partners join this community again and again, so that the diversity of products increases continuously.

Point of departure

The producers come from all over the LEADER region. Due to the growing demand the first location of the shop in the municipality of Lechaschau became too small, therefore the community tried to find a new and from the customer's point of view more suitable location.

Targets and target groups

The targets are to increase sales by 30 % compared to the old farm shop. This involves expanding the clientele, increasing the number of regular clients and increasing sales per purchase by expanding the product range. In addition to the farmer's shop, a women farmer catering is run. In addition, there is close cooperation with ‘Ziegenpeter’ in Ehrwald, who, as part of a Leader, has specialized in the production of goat milk ice cream and cheese.

Project implementation and measures

Setting up of the premises: purchase of showcases, refrigerators, shelves, kitchen equipment, cash register, furniture for eight seats, installation of a power outlet, promotion of the new location.

Results and effects

The ‘Außerfern farm shop’ has meanwhile established itself in the region. The cooperation works smoothly. The expected turnover was exceeded by far. In the meantime, the community has opened another farm shop in the Tannheimer Valley. The cooperation with tourism and nature park management is being intensified on a regular basis.
