Short description

“DAC” (Districtus Austriae Controllatus) stands for controlled, regionally typical high-quality wines from Austria. Weinviertel DAC and Weinviertel DAC Reserve (from vintage 2009 onwards) are exclusively white wines of the variety Grüner Veltliner. 5 presentations of the Weinviertel DAC vintage 2010 in Vienna, Linz, Salzburg, Götzis and Munich. The visitors could convince themselves on the spot of the high quality and the advantages of the Weinviertel DAC wines. Moreover the events in Salzburg, Götzis and Munich were held in cooperation with the association Blaufränkischland Mittelburgenland. (Mittelburgenland DAC stands exclusively for wines of the variety Blaufränkisch from the central Burgenland) In this way a better understanding for the general and in Austria quite new DAC concept has been achieved.

Point of departure

The popularity of the concept of origin of Weinviertel DAC and Mittelburgenland DAC was rather low.
