Seminar and Coworking Space “Gasthof Bräu”

Throughout this project the country inn “Gasthof Bräu” shall take over important functions for the community. On one hand, the country inn’s tavern shall be reopened. On the other hand, the facilities shall provide room for external seminars to regional companies.
In addition, apartments are being allocated to the employees in order to ease their start in the new job.

Product development – Rare vegetable varieties from the Kamptal valley

LE 14–20

ARCHE NOAH owns a seed bank of several vegetable varieties that are still of little market relevance, but of future importance in terms of diet diversification. Especially during the winter month many people are seeking for tasty alternatives to potatoes.
In order to make the rare vegetable varieties available to a large number of consumers, some progress within the fields of variety development has to be made. Furthermore, a marketing network (organizing events for restaurant owners, caterers etc.) will be established during this project. MORE

ARGE "Biologische Ampferregulierung"

Organic dock control

LE 14–20

Heavy infestation of grassland with dock reduces yields and therefore results in considerable economic loss for farmers. However, due to the high regeneration and reproduction capacity the control of dock poses a particularly sincere challenge to farmers. Existing means of combating the problematic species (e.g. chemical control) can often be used to a limited extent only and in most cases also entail risks. Organic control through natural enemies is therefore an alternative. The projects aims to test the efficiency, practicability and feasibility by means of a pilot project using the larvaes of the fiery clearwing moths. MORE

Handicraft and manufactory in the Waldviertel region

Handicraft has a long tradition in the Waldviertel region. There are still some craftsmen that are specialized in nacre turning, forging and wicker-working. This specific LEADER project aims at the revitalization of the traditional handicraft in the region. The project will be effected in collaboration with the four Local Action Groups (LAG) of the Waldviertel region and one LAG from the Weinviertel region. MORE

Biodiversity monitoring with Austrian farmers

The major aim of the project is to constantly observe and report about the specified indicator species and to raise the awareness for the importance and the value of extensive grasslands.
