Seminar and Coworking Space “Gasthof Bräu”
Throughout this project the country inn “Gasthof Bräu” shall take over important functions for the community. On one hand, the country inn’s tavern shall be reopened. On the other hand, the facilities shall provide room for external seminars to regional companies.
In addition, apartments are being allocated to the employees in order to ease their start in the new job.

Sewing and repair- Café
The new Sewing and repair- Café will be established within the premises (Wohnoase) of the “Peoples Aid Upper Austria” in Freistadt. This project aims to promote the responsible use of resources rather than supporting a throwaway mentality. At the Sewing and repair- Café small devices and clothes can be repaired by following the step-by-step instructions. MORE
A stable for young cattle on the mountain-pastures
The construction of the stable for young cattle has been effected on a private alp in the Austrian Zillertal. During the summer months, from the end of May until the mid/end of September, the farm-own cattle (10 dairy cows, 12 young cows) is taken to the mountain. MORE
The Gastein Youth Magazine
The project “The Gastein Youth Magazine” shall activate the feeling of togetherness among the adolescents living in Gastein, Austria. This magazine has been created to collect ideas for political, cultural and social participation. Three issues will be published per year. MORE
Product development – Rare vegetable varieties from the Kamptal valley
ARCHE NOAH owns a seed bank of several vegetable varieties that are still of little market relevance, but of future importance in terms of diet diversification. Especially during the winter month many people are seeking for tasty alternatives to potatoes.
In order to make the rare vegetable varieties available to a large number of consumers, some progress within the fields of variety development has to be made. Furthermore, a marketing network (organizing events for restaurant owners, caterers etc.) will be established during this project. MORE
A Stable for organic laying hens
The Oberger-family, located in Schwarzenbach – Lower Austria changed their agricultural production from dairy cattle to organic laying hens. The decisive factors were the certain wish for income maintenance on one hand and the aim for a less work intensive production, associated with an improvement of quality of life on the other hand. Certificate courses on income combination
The aim of the offered certificate courses on income combination is to support the participants regarding the challenges within the agricultural sector, as well as to maintain their income by combining different branches. Furthermore, a foundation stone for innovative ideas and their practical implementation shall be laid. MORE
Organic dock control
Heavy infestation of grassland with dock reduces yields and therefore results in considerable economic loss for farmers. However, due to the high regeneration and reproduction capacity the control of dock poses a particularly sincere challenge to farmers. Existing means of combating the problematic species (e.g. chemical control) can often be used to a limited extent only and in most cases also entail risks. Organic control through natural enemies is therefore an alternative. The projects aims to test the efficiency, practicability and feasibility by means of a pilot project using the larvaes of the fiery clearwing moths. MORE

This project aims to support the achievement of the agricultural sustainability goals formulated within the Rural Development Program, by providing training courses on biodiversity for farm managers. MORE
Allocation of green areas for ecological installations– land consolidation in Schirmannsreith
During this project, agricultural land will be allocated to create common green areas. The farming activity on the respective areas has been stopped to ensure the development of and adequate natural environment on the project area. MORE
Handicraft and manufactory in the Waldviertel region
Handicraft has a long tradition in the Waldviertel region. There are still some craftsmen that are specialized in nacre turning, forging and wicker-working. This specific LEADER project aims at the revitalization of the traditional handicraft in the region. The project will be effected in collaboration with the four Local Action Groups (LAG) of the Waldviertel region and one LAG from the Weinviertel region. MORE
„ZAMm unterwegs 2015-2016“
The project named “ZAMm unterwegs” and the preceding project “ZAM” (future-oriented motivation for agriculture) aim to intensify the women farmers’ participation in regional committees through awareness raising activities and by setting measures in terms of education. In this way interested women farmers shall be provided with a well-equipped tool box in order to be capable to efficiently contribute to the work of agrarian and local committees, associations and organizations. Biodiversity monitoring with Austrian farmers
The major aim of the project is to constantly observe and report about the specified indicator species and to raise the awareness for the importance and the value of extensive grasslands. The farmers can personally convince themselves of the close correlation between grassland management and biodiversity performance. The “front-line projects” addressing a more sustainable dialogue between the agricultural sector and the society are generally well established and shall be further developed in future. The number of farm managers that are participating in the time consuming public relation activities is however relatively low.

Mountain-pasture farmers observe biodiversity
“We care for our mountain-pastures”: this is the slogan of the project on observing biodiversity on mountain pastures in Austria. Starting in 2013 about 50 mountain-pasture farmers have been observing the flora and fauna on their meadows. This can be seen as a valuable contribution to protect and maintain biodiversity. MORE
Certificate course on direct marketing of farm products
This certificate course is addressed to all farmers who are already engaged or at least interested in direct marketing. Profound knowledge, future trends and interesting facts on direct marketing are communicated within a time frame of 16 days (128 teaching units). MORE

On the one hand, the project database offers project initiators the opportunity to present their projects to a wide interested audience. On the other hand, it provides interested parties with ideas and suggestions for their own possible projects.
