The carol of John´s path

Short description

The carol of John´s path is about the route, the different impressions and points of interest as well as about the "coming to rest" of every hiker.

Point of departure

The spiritual hiking trail "Der Johannesweg" can be described as the touristic project of the century in the region of the Mühlviertler Alm. All indications that contribute to making the Johannesweg even better known are therefore supported by the entire region in the best possible way. The carol is therefore also intended to increase the awareness of the spiritual hiking trail.

Targets and target groups

- The carol should contribute to an increase in the awareness of the hiking path and thus secure for a longer period the touristic added value in the region.

Mein Johannesweg
Von Pierbach übern Ramlberg, da führt ein Weg zur Quelle hin.
Das Wasser des Johannesbrunnen, stärkt des Wandrer‘s Glaubenssinn,
der Kraftplatz und auch die Kapelle, gibt mir Stärke, gibt mir Mut,
entlang des Weges kommt die Stelle, wo ich weiß es geht mir gut.

Johannesweg in deiner Stille, finde ich den Weg zu mir,
sehe wieder neue Ziele, lieber Gott hab Dank dafür.
Steh am Haiderberg und lächle,  hab den Stein in meiner Hand,
leg ihn zu den Andern nieder, wo schon Danke darauf stand.
Nach Schönau strahlt der Herrgottsitz, der Sage nach wird dort erzählt,
saß Gott zufrieden auf dem Felsen, schaute über seine Welt.
Mühlviertler Alm wie bist du schön, wurdest auch von Gott gemacht, 
ich möcht' nocht stundenlang hier gehn, die Sterne halten ihre Wacht.

St. Leonhard ich grüße dich, muss weiter wandern auf dem Weg,
denn Weitersfelden wart‘ schon auf mich, mit der Waldaist und dem Steg.
Ich spür den Frieden und die Ruhe, seh die Tradition von dort,
so tragen mich die Wanderschuh, nach Kaltenberg dem Wallfahrtsort.
Der Weg führt abwärts bis ins Tal, in Unter weißenbach ich bin,
der Pilgerpfad führt noch einmal, steil hinauf zur Hirschalm hin.
Das Gipfelkreuz von Harlingsedt zeigt nun Königswiesen mir,
ich schau ins Land und man versteht, den Frieden finde ich nur hier.
